I put the larger Maki above our dining table and it changed the room completely. Before, evening dinners felt a bit bare — now there's this warm, sculptural glow that people notice the moment they sit down. Friends ask about it every time. It made the table feel like somewhere worth gathering.

Maki is a spherical pendant with bands of linen wrapped diagonally over an iron frame. The linen is translucent enough to let the glow travel through each panel, and the seams between bands cast soft shadow lines across the surface. The light it gives is warm and even, with no hot spot. It suits a bedroom, living room, or dining room, hung at a height to suit the space.

Maki is built from bands of linen wound diagonally over a spherical iron frame, each panel overlapping the last. The material is light and translucent, so the glow travels through the full form. The seams between bands are visible and become the surface detail — the construction is plain to see, and the shadow lines it produces give the sphere depth when lit.

Bulbs are not always included. This lets you choose the color temperature and brightness that suits your space. Get in touch if you need guidance on the right bulb for a specific fixture.

Warmer tones (2700–3000K) produce soft, inviting light — well suited to living rooms and bedrooms. Cooler tones (4000K and above) are brighter and more energizing, better suited to kitchens and workspaces. Contact us if you'd like a recommendation for a specific room.

Each piece is chosen with material as the first consideration - alabaster, marble, ceramic, brass, wood, ribbed and milk glass. Where safety or longevity calls for a different material, we use it sparingly, but natural materials lead.
