The shade is cast from clear ribbed glass — vertical channels running from collar to rim that catch the filament's glow and break it into fine parallel lines, spreading warmth evenly across a kitchen or dining table below. The form is wide and low, honest to its purpose. Brass hardware at the canopy and socket holder carries a quiet patina over time, settling into the piece rather than announcing itself.

The ribbed glass does two things at once: it gives the shade its form and it works the light, splitting a single source into dozens of fine parallel glows that travel across the rim and onto surfaces below. The wide, shallow dome keeps the proportion considered — present enough to anchor a table or island without crowding the eye.
