I hung two Ninnikus above our dining table and the room stopped feeling like a rental. That evening, with friends around the table and the glass glowing, someone asked if we'd redecorated the whole room. We hadn't touched anything else. The light did it — that steady, even warmth spreading down over everything.
A room that feels held, rather than lit.
The shade is ribbed milk glass, drawn to a soft gathered point at the crown and pulled wide at the belly. Light sits inside the glass and diffuses evenly across the ribs — no hot spot, no glare, only a warm, settled glow. A turned brass stem and a single cast brass sphere anchor the underside, giving the form its quiet weight.
Hung over a dining table, it changes what the meal feels like. Conversation slows into something easier. Guests notice the light before they notice the shade — which is exactly how it should be. The table you set beneath it becomes a setting people remember, and the pride in that is entirely yours.
-
Milk glass carries the light from within, casting an even warmth that softens the whole room rather than spotlighting a single surface.
-
The ribbed surface catches the glow along each flute, drawing slow arcs of shadow up the wall as evening settles.
-
The brass sphere below anchors the form visually, adding a considered contrast to the white without competing with it.
-
Onion-drop proportion reads well alone over a round table or paired in a run above a longer one.
-
Adjustable cord keeps the hang height honest — low enough to feel intimate, high enough to stay out of the way.
The shade is ribbed milk glass — a material that diffuses light evenly and holds its form. The stem and sphere are brass. Both sizes share the same proportions and fittings. Dimensions are stated accurately
The shape is the whole idea: a fluted onion drop that stays soft from every angle and never resolves into anything angular or hard. Milk glass carries the light without a hot spot, diffusing it evenly across each rib so the glow is the room's, not the bulb's. The brass sphere below is not decoration — it gives the form a base, a visual full stop, and a reason to hang still.
