I put three Kuris over the kitchen island and the whole room shifted. It went from bright and utilitarian to somewhere I actually want to spend time. The wood is richer in person — each shade has its own depth to the grain. Friends always ask about them first.

Kuri is turned from wood and finished with a brushed brass collar — a combination that draws out the grain's depth and holds a glow against it. Switched on, the light pours downward in a focused, amber pool, turning a functional counter or dining surface into somewhere people want to gather and stay.
Run three along a kitchen island and the room stops being a place to cook and becomes a place to linger. Guests pull in closer. Conversation slows to the good kind. The setting does what a considered room should: it makes everyone feel the evening was worth it.

The dome is formed from real wood; the collar and canopy fitting are brushed brass. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand, and because wood carries its own grain and surface character, no two shades are identical. Diameter 15 cm (approximately 6 inches). Suitable for standard ceiling installation on a cord pendant.
Kuri pairs the warmth of turned wood with the honest weight of brushed brass — two materials that age in the same direction. The dome's proportion is low and settled, directing light downward with intent while keeping the form unobtrusive overhead. The brass collar acts as a hinge between the dark wood and the black rod, giving the piece a composed, considered finish from every angle.
