Alabaster that glows through dark veining — warm light from solid stone.
The Sumi Column is a slim cylinder turned from solid alabaster, suspended on a fine black cord. When lit, warm light passes through the stone and the dark grey veining deepens against it. The column suits a bedside drop, a dining table, a kitchen, or a hallway — hung singly or in a staggered pair.
The Sumi Column is turned from solid alabaster — not a veneer or composite. The stone is slim in diameter and tall, which gives it a vertical proportion that works beside a bed on a long drop or above a table in a pair. When lit, warm light passes through the alabaster and the dark veining becomes more pronounced against the glow. The matte black iron caps at each end are minimal and do not compete with the stone.
